Trump's running mate does not retract statements about migrants eating dogs
springfield - J.D. Vance, the running mate of Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump, stands by his claims that Haitian migrants in Ohio eat dogs and cats.
J.D. Vance, representing Ohio in the U.S. Senate, previously stated that migrants from Haiti in Springfield, Ohio, eat dogs and cats. Trump repeated this during a debate with his Democratic opponent, Kamala Harris.
Vance's and Trump's claims led to multiple threats and the closure of some schools and hospitals in Springfield. Local authorities, including the mayor of Springfield and the Republican governor of Ohio, stated there is no evidence to support Vance's statements. Governor Mike DeWine said, "These discussions about Haitians eating dogs, cats, and other things must stop."
Vance does not believe he is responsible for the recent wave of threats in Springfield. On CNN, he attributed them to "psychopaths" and "losers."
