Biden Wears Red Trump Hat for 'Unity' at 9/11 Memorial

new york - US President Joe Biden briefly wore one of former President Donald Trump's signature red hats as a gesture of unity on the anniversary of the 9/11 attacks.

Democrat Biden was challenged to put on the hat while attending a memorial ceremony with Vice President Kamala Harris, Trump's opponent in the November presidential election, at the site in Pennsylvania where Flight 93 crashed.

He spoke about unity between both parties and in the United States after 9/11, emphasizing the need to return to that, according to a White House spokesperson.

As a gesture, he gave a hat to a Trump supporter, who suggested Biden wear his Trump hat in the same spirit, and he briefly did.

The 81-year-old Biden, who was replaced by Harris in July when he withdrew from the election, has described Trump as an existential threat to American democracy. Videos and photos of the president wearing the hat with the 'Trump 2024' slogan quickly went viral.

A Trump campaign account claimed Biden wore the hat because 'Kamala did so poorly in last night's debate.' However, neutral observers saw Trump as the loser of the debate, appearing defensive, unprepared, and fixated on the past and personal grievances.
