- Former Republican presidential candidate and president Donald Trump rules out a new TV debate with his Democratic rival Kamala Harris, citing previous debates as sufficient. Harris challenges Trump for a second debate, but Trump declines, claiming victory in the first debate.

Former Republican presidential candidate and ex-president Donald Trump rules out a new TV debate with his Democratic rival Kamala Harris. Trump stated on his Truth Social platform, "There will be no third debate!" Trump considered his previous debates with President Joe Biden in June and his confrontation with Harris as the first two debates.

After the Tuesday debate, Harris immediately challenged Trump to a second TV debate. Initially, Trump said he had "no problem" with that. However, on Wednesday, he hinted that he was not interested in a second debate with the vice president. "I am not inclined to do that because I have clearly won this debate," he told the right-wing channel Fox News.

In an initial response, during a campaign event in the swing state of North Carolina, Harris stated that "we owe it to the voters to have another presidential debate."

The American presidential elections are on November 5.
