nysa - Residents of the Polish city Nysa are working together to prevent a major dike from collapsing. The mayor described how the community formed a human chain to pass sandbags and prevent a potential disaster.

Approximately 2000 people, including women, men, children, and the elderly, gathered on the dike to reinforce it. Mayor Kordian Kolbiarz praised their coordinated efforts to pass sandbags along the dike to strengthen it.

The mayor of the nearest major city, Wroclaw, held crisis talks with Prime Minister Donald Tusk regarding the high water levels. There is concern that Wroclaw could also be affected by flooding. Tusk mentioned that meteorologists are still uncertain about the situation.

The high water levels have been declared a natural disaster, allowing for easier emergency measures and enhanced assistance. Tragically, four individuals have lost their lives in the floods in Poland. Austria, Czech Republic, and Romania have also implemented emergency measures due to the flooding.
