Police stops retrieve guest lists hotels

- Police are asking no longer automatically on who's staying in hotels. Investigators only ask for the information they really need, such as an investigation.

The Authority Authority, the successor to the Dutch Data Protection Authority (CBP) has announced that Friday.

The Tubantia newspaper revealed last year that Twente hotels every day forward the entire guest list to the police. Therefore, the Authority Personal commenced an investigation. The police has now adjusted its method. The hotels the night registration should not automatically share and the police they will remember it, says privacy watchdog. Is there still a table inside, when it should not, it will be destroyed immediately.
