No new evidence of Russian Brexit influence

london - Facebook has informed a British parliamentary committee that further research has not provided any new evidence for Russian influence on the Brexit referendum via the platforms of the social medium. British voters voted in 2016 with a departure from the European Union.

Policy Director Simon Milner from Facebook UK sent a letter to the relevant House of Commons on Wednesday saying that his company has been trying since mid-January to find indications for coordinated Russian activities around brexit that have not been discovered before. That work has remained fruitless.

The experts checked both Facebook accounts and the activities of many thousands of advertisers during the Brexit campaign. They found no other cases pointing to Russian interference than the few who had already been discovered.
