washington - A 44-year-old American was found guilty of the murder of his fifteen-month-old son. Joaquin S. Rams now hangs a life sentence overhead, The Washington Post reported Thursday.

The man was ahead of his trial years in prison. One researcher concluded initially that the child had drowned, but in 2014 another coroner stated that the cause of death was unclear. A natural death was not ruled out.

The child had been in the weeks before his death, suffering from febrile seizures. Rams introduced himself to the boy before his death had a stroke in his crib. He carried the child in his own words into a bathtub to cool it with cold water. The man has always denied being guilty of murder.

The father was accused of bringing the child to death in 2012 to get an insurance premium of over half a million dollars. The defense showed that the man had a secret bank account that had been deposited in the years before his arrest for about $ 277,000.
