washington - President-elect Donald Trump has nominated Chris Wright, CEO of a fracking company in Colorado, as his choice for Secretary of Energy.
Chris Wright, the CEO of Liberty Energy, has been selected by Donald Trump to lead the Department of Energy. Wright is a strong advocate for the use of fossil fuels and has a background in the fracking industry. Fracking, a controversial method of extracting oil and gas from the ground, involves the use of chemicals.
Trump stated that Wright will also be appointed to the National Energy Council, which is being established to promote American 'energy dominance'. In addition, Trump's pick for Secretary of the Interior, Governor Doug Burgum, is set to lead this council.
