paris, france - France introduces new diplomatic measures against Venezuela in response to recent actions.

France Implements Diplomatic Measures Against Venezuela

France is taking new diplomatic actions against Venezuela, following Venezuela's similar measures against France, Italy, and the Netherlands. The Venezuelan regime accused these countries of reacting 'hostilely' to President Nicolás Maduro's new term.

France is now giving some Venezuelan diplomats five days to leave the country. The decision is a retaliatory move against Venezuela's reduction of French diplomatic presence in Caracas on January 14th, according to an official statement.

Venezuelan President Maduro started his third term this month amid allegations of fraud in the election by the opposition, which claims their candidate Edmundo González Urrutia is the true winner.

Earlier, the Netherlands also reduced the number of Venezuelan diplomats from four to two.
