New spike victims reported in Kortrijk, bringing total to eleven
kortrijk - Four new victims have reported being spiked in Kortrijk, as the investigation continues.
Four new victims have come forward in Kortrijk, reporting incidents of spiking to the police and the Court. "Perhaps more crucial is the date mentioned by one of the new victims: June 2024. This is not an old case, and the duration of the incidents lasted for at least a year," emphasized Janssens.
On Thursday, the Court issued a press release calling out to young women who may have been victims of spiking in and around Burgemeester Reynaertstraat. Drink spiking involves secretly administering drugs in a person's drink with the intention of sexual abuse or theft. According to the prosecution, this case specifically involves offering a shot containing the date rape drug ketamine.
The appeal resulted in immediate responses. "The victims who have come forward will eventually file complaints. We hope their stories contain information that will help us apprehend the perpetrators quickly," said Janssens. The investigation is far from complete. "We cannot present anyone to the council chamber at this point. While four suspects were arrested during a raid in October, the investigation is far from over," the spokesperson added.
