new york city - A woman was set on fire in a New York City subway while she was sleeping. Authorities are offering a $10,000 reward for any information that can lead to the arrest of the suspect.

A woman was found asleep with various bottles of alcohol around her when a suspect threw a lit lighter at her in the subway, as reported by New York Post. It is still unclear whose bottles they were and if they accelerated the fire. After being set on fire, footage circulating on social media shows the woman engulfed in flames at Coney Island.

The suspect allegedly sat back on a bench calmly after setting her on fire and watched, according to the New York newspaper, describing it as a 'shockingly brutal murder'. The victim tragically died on the spot.

The police have launched a large-scale investigation and released images of a suspect. A $10,000 reward has been offered for any valuable information.
