- One in the US may be paid frozen Iranian funds converted from EUR 1.75 billion to the families of a major attack in Beirut in 1983. The US Supreme Court rejected Tuesday an appeal by the Iranian central bank would keep the benefit.

In 2007, a judge ruled in New York all that the fund could be used to fund a portion of the total compensation of 2.36 billion euros for the relatives. The court supported the claim that Iran had provided the Shiite Hezbollah movement of material for the attack on a barracks of US Marines. Nearly three hundred people lost their lives in the attack. In 2014, a higher court made a similar ruling.

The Iranian Central Bank Markazi moisture in vain. The money is in an account at Citibank in New York.
