grand junction - US authorities have identified body parts found in a freezer in Colorado as those of a teenager who went missing in 2005, according to NBC News.
The body parts were discovered earlier this year after the house near Grand Junction was sold. The new owner had offered a freezer left behind for free pickup. The person who responded to the offer then found a head and hands.
Subsequent investigations revealed that the body parts belonged to Amanda Overstreet, who was around 16 years old when she disappeared. Authorities say the teenager was apparently never reported missing and was last seen alive in 2005.
Authorities have not disclosed the cause of death of the teenager. No further details are being released as the investigation is ongoing.
