Two refugees froze to death in Bulgaria

- (Reuters / DPA)- A girl and a woman in Bulgaria froze to death in the border with Turkey. The two were part of a group of nineteen refugees who traveled illegally to Europe, said a spokesman of the Bulgarian Customs Sunday against state radio.

The other members of the group, including ten children, were collected in a clinic. They say to get out of Iraq and Afghanistan.
Bulgaria at the border with Turkey stand a 30 kilometer long fence, which refugees can only get in through the official border crossing Bulgaria and with the European Union. Last year registered 27 000 migrants in the poorest EU Member State.
Bulgaria is not part of the Schengen Area and is not on the so-called Balkan route taken by many refugees.
