Los Angeles Deputy Mayor Accused of Bomb Threat at City Hall
los angeles - The FBI has searched the home of a deputy mayor of Los Angeles on suspicion of making a false bomb threat at City Hall.
The FBI has conducted a search at the residence of a deputy mayor of Los Angeles following allegations of a fake bomb threat at City Hall. The Los Angeles police have indicated that the bomb threat earlier this year is likely connected to Brian Williams, who held the position of deputy mayor responsible for public safety. Williams oversaw departments such as the police and fire service for a period of two years. Due to his close involvement with the city's police department, the case of the bomb threat has been referred to the federal agency, FBI.
According to a spokesperson for Mayor Karen Bass, Williams has been suspended from his duties as deputy mayor as reported by various American media outlets. Williams himself has yet to comment on the allegations. The motive behind the bomb threat, as well as whether it was actually made by Williams, remains unclear.
Los Angeles, the second most populous city in the United States, has multiple deputy mayors appointed by Mayor Bass.
