The Republican Party, like in the Senate, is on track to secure a majority in the House after last week's elections, predicts the American website Decision Desk HQ. The Republicans currently hold 214 seats in the House of Representatives, with 17 seats yet to be allocated.

DDHQ predicts that the party will secure a minimum of 218 seats, enough for the majority. The Democrats hold 204 seats.

The victory could be crucial for Trump to push through his plans in parliament. The Democrats will have few political resources after electoral losses to thwart proposals from their archenemy.
