Rebels Approaching Syrian City of Hama, Observatorium Reports
coventry - Rebels have surrounded the Syrian city of Hama from three sides, according to the UK-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.
Rebels have besieged the Syrian city of Hama from three sides, cutting off most escape routes for government forces, leaving only one route towards Homs in the south, as reported by the UK-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.
Following clashes with government troops, the rebels are now positioned 3 to 4 kilometers away from Hama, the Observatory stated. The fighters belong to Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS), who have been advancing in Syria for a week now and already control the city of Aleppo.
Initial reports suggesting that rebels had already entered Hama were denied by the Syrian military. Hama is located in western Syria and has a population of nearly a million people, making it one of the four largest cities in the country.
