Obama criticizes 'crazy Trump' at the beginning of Harris campaign: 'Bullying is not real strength'
pittsburgh - Former President Barack Obama criticizes Donald Trump and urges support for Kamala Harris during a campaign event in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Former President Barack Obama criticized 'crazy Trump' during a gathering in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and called on people to vote for the Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris.
According to the former president, some male voters see Trump's bullying behavior as a sign of strength. 'I am here to tell you that bullying is not real strength,' said Obama. He also criticized black male voters for their hesitation to support Harris, suggesting that they 'simply cannot get used to the idea of a woman as president.'
Addressing the audience in Pennsylvania, Obama expressed understanding for people's frustration, emphasizing that 'what I can't understand is why anyone would think that Donald Trump would shake things up in a way that is good for you.'
The first black former president of America admitted that 'this election will be tight' as many voters are still struggling with high prices. 'Kamala is just as prepared for the job as any other candidate has ever been,' he added.
His gathering was partly aimed at young people, an important group of voters according to Harris' campaign team. However, voter registration among young people in 34 states has dropped compared to four years ago, according to data from the Center for Information & Research on Civic Learning and Engagement at Tufts University.
The number of people between 18 and 29 years old who registered to vote in Pennsylvania in September was 15 percent lower than on election day in 2020, according to this center. Obama plans to visit several swing states in the coming weeks, a handful of states where it is not clear in advance which candidate will win.
