atlanta/philadelphia - Democratic candidate Kamala Harris attended two churches in Georgia while her Republican rival Donald Trump campaigned in a McDonald's in Pennsylvania, ahead of the upcoming U.S. presidential elections.

Less than three weeks before the American presidential elections, Democratic candidate Kamala Harris visited two churches on Sunday, while her Republican rival Donald Trump campaigned at a McDonald’s. Both candidates visited swing states, which could be crucial on November 5 as it remains unclear which candidate will win.

Harris was in Georgia where early voting is already open, while Trump visited Pennsylvania. At a McDonald’s in the outskirts of Philadelphia, Trump took off his jacket, put on an apron, and started frying fries, something he claimed he always wanted to do his „whole life”. After sprinkling salt on the fries, he handed them out to the gathered customers. „I love this job,” said Trump, known for his love of fast food. „I have a lot of fun here.”

Prior to his visit to McDonald’s, Trump stated that part of the purpose of the visit was to mock Harris, who mentioned working at the fast food chain during her college years in California. Trump alleges that Harris never worked there, although he has not provided any evidence to support this claim.

Harris, who celebrated her 60th birthday on Sunday, participated in two church services just outside Atlanta. Music icon Stevie Wonder performed at one of the services, singing hits like Higher Ground and a rendition of Bob Marley’s Redemption Song.

She took the opportunity to address the „divisive rhetoric of the current political climate” in the country, without directly naming Trump. „At this point in our country, we see some trying to increase the division among us, spread hate, sow fear, and cause chaos,” she stated among other remarks.
