Trump Celebrates Inauguration Lavishly
After his inauguration, President Donald Trump danced with his wife Melania at the Commander-in-Chief Ball in Washington. Vice President J.D. Vance and his partner Usha Vance were also seen on the dance floor.
Hail to the Chief
Trump's entrance was accompanied by the song Hail to the Chief, which was also played at the Capital One Arena where he signed several decrees in front of his supporters.
Trump was in a good mood after taking office. He cut a cake during the event using a long sword and even danced with it, making the Secret Service 'very nervous' according to Vice President J.D. Vance.
First Presidential Decrees
Shortly after taking office, Trump signed a flurry of presidential decrees. This included granting pardon to Capitol rioters, withdrawing the U.S. from the World Health Organization, pulling out of the climate agreement, and reinstating the federal death penalty.
Personnel Changes
Trump also stated that he has already dismissed four government officials who did not align with his vision for the American government. He mentioned this on Truth Social, indicating a larger plan to remove over a thousand officials appointed by the previous administration.
The four dismissed individuals held positions in various branches of the government, including renowned chef and activist José Andrés, former top military officer Mark Milley, ex-diplomat Brian Hook, and former Atlanta mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms.
