Desert Buzzard Captured in Flamstead
A desert buzzard causing a series of attacks in the English village of Flamstead was caught last Thursday by local residents.
The bird was captured by runner Steve Harris in his garden, with the assistance of falconer Alan Greenhalgh.
Greenhalgh mentioned that the bird's aggressive behavior might be hormonal due to the breeding season starting.
The buzzard, unharmed, will be relocated to a new habitat. Greenhalgh noted the bird's displeasure at being captured after roaming wild since November.
Flamstead Parish Council praised Harris for his quick actions in safely capturing the bird. A 75-year-old man, a recent victim of the buzzard, expressed relief over the capture.
