Syria's new government continues its diplomatic efforts with visits to Saudi Arabia, Qatar, UAE, and Jordan as part of promoting stability, security, economic recovery, and strong partnerships. Foreign Minister Esaad Hasan Shaibani and his delegation, who recently visited Saudi Arabia, will travel to Qatar, UAE, and Jordan next week. Shaibani stated, "This week, I will represent Syria in official visits to brotherly countries such as Qatar, UAE, and Jordan. These visits aim to promote stability, security, economic recovery, and support strong partnerships."
In a statement from the Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, it was announced that Shaibani will visit Amman upon the official invitation of Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi. The meeting will focus on cooperation mechanisms in various areas such as borders, security, energy, transportation, water, and trade. During a meeting with Ahmed al-Shara, the leader of the new government in Syria on December 23 in Damascus, the Jordanian minister expressed readiness to assist in the reconstruction of Syria. Jordan shares a 375-kilometer land border with Syria. Since the start of the civil war in the neighboring country in 2011, Amman has hosted close to one million Syrian refugees.
