German police investigate 'deportation tickets' on AfD flyers
karlsruhe - German police have launched an investigation into flyers distributed by the far-right party Alternative für Deutschland, which look like airline tickets with the message 'From: Germany - To: Safe country of origin'.
German police have initiated an investigation into flyers distributed by the far-right party Alternative für Deutschland (AfD), which have raised concerns due to their resemblance to airline tickets. The flyers bear the message 'From: Germany - To: Safe country of origin', with a departure date of February 23, coinciding with the German elections. The flyers also state: 'Only remigration can save Germany'.
According to reports from regional German media outlets such as SWR and Badische Neueste Nachrichten, the QR code on the tickets leads to the AfD's website in Karlsruhe, where the flyer was originally displayed. These flyers were reportedly distributed at the party's recent congress, with an estimated 30,000 copies printed.
The AfD's local branch has claimed responsibility for the campaign, stating that the flyer is intended for all voters, not just those with a migration background. The goal was to draw attention to issues surrounding illegal migration. Many of the pamphlets are yet to be delivered.
