- Approximately 15 current and former MEPs are under scrutiny, with a Portuguese company acting as an intermediary.
Previous Scandal: Qatargate
A similar scandal, known as Qatargate, involved allegations of Qatar and Morocco attempting to buy influence in the European Parliament by offering bribes to left-wing MEPs.
