Sierra Leone has declared a state of emergency due to cases of Monkeypox. The Health Minister, Dr. Austin Demby, stated that the confirmation of 2 cases of Monkeypox virus in the country requires action to be taken under the Public Health Act.
Dr. Demby announced, "I am declaring a state of emergency on behalf of the Sierra Leone government for public health reasons."
