kampala - A nurse in Uganda has died from the Ebola virus, marking the first case in 2 years, according to the Ministry of Health.
Nurse Dies from Ebola in Uganda
The victim, a 32-year-old man who worked at a hospital, is the first reported case of Ebola in Uganda since 2022. Currently, no other hospital staff or patients are showing symptoms of the virus. Authorities have identified 44 contacts of the nurse and are vaccinating them to prevent further spread.
The last Ebola outbreak in Uganda was in 2022, resulting in the deaths of 55 people over four months. Ebola is a contagious virus transmitted through bodily fluids. Patients experience fever, vomiting, and diarrhea before organ failure.
