washington, usa - The White House and the US Treasury Department have agreed not to grant DOGE advisory board led by Elon Musk access to taxpayers' personal data.
DOGE Denied Full Access to Sensitive IRS Data
The DOGE advisory board, led by billionaire Elon Musk, has been granted 'read access' to anonymous data, similar to academic researchers and IT specialists.
Recently, DOGE requested full access to the most privacy-sensitive data system of the IRS to uncover financial waste, but this would have included access to bank account information and personal data.
Past demands for access to sensitive data systems by DOGE have led to resignations and replacements within government agencies.
A US judge ruled in favor of the Trump administration's ability to dismiss probationary employees, rejecting union requests for a temporary halt to the dismissal of thousands of federal workers.
The decision followed the dismissal of 6,700 IRS employees during their probationary period out of 100,000 total employees.
