Three Women to be Released by Hamas
gaza strip - Hamas announces the release of three female hostages, resolving issues with the planned ceasefire with Israel.
Hamas to Release Three Female Hostages
Hamas has revealed the names of the three female hostages set to be released on Sunday: Emily Damari (28), Romi Gonen (24), and Doron Steinbrecher (31). The ceasefire agreement between Hamas and Israel was scheduled to begin at 8:30 local time on Sunday, with the first three hostages being released by Hamas. However, complications arose as Israel had not received the list of names within the agreed time frame, leading to renewed hostilities. After delays, Hamas finally released the names, allowing the ceasefire to commence. Emily Damari, the only British hostage, was abducted during a Hamas attack in southern Israel in October 2023, sustaining injuries. Romi Gonen was taken while fleeing an attack at the Supernova festival, and her mother had appealed to the UN for help. Doron Steinbrecher, a veterinary nurse, was kidnapped from her home in Kfar Aza. The hostages are expected to be handed over to Israel later on Sunday.
