Yoon's Trial Begins at Constitutional Court
The trial of Yoon Suk Yeol, who was ousted from the presidency and arrested in South Korea, has started at the Constitutional Court amid an investigation into the martial law declared on December 3, 2024.
Yoon, who is detained at the Seoul detention center, is expected to present his defense regarding the martial law declaration.
Hundreds of people gathered outside the courthouse to show support for Yoon.
If the Constitutional Court decides to remove Yoon from office, South Korea will hold an early presidential election within 60 days.
