Republican candidate for governor denies posts on porn website, called himself 'black Nazi'
raleigh - Republican candidate Mark Robinson in North Carolina denies allegations of posting controversial statements on a porn website and advocating for slavery.
Republican candidate Mark Robinson in North Carolina has stated that he will continue to run for governor in his state, after reports surfaced that he referred to himself as 'a black Nazi' and proposed reinstating slavery. These posts were allegedly made on a porn website, as reported by CNN.
The 56-year-old Robinson, an African American who was endorsed by Trump, has released a denial video addressing the CNN report as 'tabloid lies'.
CNN reported that Robinson had made 'sexual and obscene' posts between 2008 and 2012 before entering politics. In a post from October 2010, he wrote: 'Slavery isn't bad. Some people have to be slaves. I wish they'd bring slavery back. I'd buy a few for sure.'
Many of the posts contradict his public stance on issues such as abortion and transgender rights, according to CNN. The Republican Party of North Carolina is standing behind Robinson, claiming that it is a smear campaign by the Democrats.
