amsterdam - The World Economic Forum launches an investigation into founder Klaus Schwab for allegedly mixing personal finances with the organization's funds without oversight.
World Economic Forum Investigates Klaus Schwab
The World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos has initiated an inquiry into its founder and former chairman, Klaus Schwab, following allegations of financial misconduct.
Allegations and Denials
A recent letter sent to the WEF board accused Klaus Schwab and his wife of commingling their personal finances with those of the organization without proper oversight.
A spokesperson for the Schwab family has refuted all claims and is considering legal action against those spreading falsehoods.
Immediate Resignation
Following the letter, the WEF board convened urgently on Easter, deciding for Schwab to step down immediately as chairman instead of after a planned transition period. Schwab had previously resigned from his operational roles.
Internal Investigation
An internal investigation has been launched by the WEF to look into the allegations. The organization stated that while the accusations are taken seriously, they remain unproven.
