Polish police bust human traffickers for migrant smuggling from Belarus

warsaw - The Polish police have dismantled a network of human traffickers who were smuggling migrants from Belarus and Russia into the EU, according to reports.

The human traffickers assisted migrants in crossing the border and then traveling to other countries like Germany. They are said to have helped around six hundred migrants, charging about 5000 euros per person.

Poland has been complaining for years that Belarus is intentionally pushing migrants across the border to create chaos within the European Union. Poland had previously erected a tall fence at the border, but two weeks ago the government announced plans to temporarily abolish the right to asylum to tackle the crisis. Experts believe this goes against international agreements and that the EU is unlikely to accept it.
