Israel Reveals Details of Sinwar's Luxurious Hideout
israel - Israeli Defense Forces share new video footage and photos of the hideout of Hamas leader Sinwar, showcasing a well-equipped living space with cash stacks and UN food aid.
The IDF has released new video footage and photos of Sinwar's hideout where he resided after the attacks on October 7.
The leader had a well-lit living room with a fully equipped kitchen. An Israeli soldier giving a tour to the media showed a bag of food labeled with the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA).
Hamas has been accused of stealing rations from the international agency that distributes supplies to nearly two million refugees in Gaza. Israel has also accused UNRWA of infiltration by Hamas, leading to the dismissal of nine employees after an internal investigation.
In addition to the food supplies, soldiers found multiple bathrooms and showers in the bunker, remarkably cleaner and more modern than other baths in Hamas' tunnel system.
Further inside were the living quarters of Sinwar's bodyguards, with lockers next to the door storing a supply of weapons, ammunition, and explosives.
In a small room reserved for the Hamas leader at the back of the bunker, a large safe next to his bed contained 'millions' of shekels, the Israeli currency, according to the soldier.
"He lived here in luxury, with all his millions, while the civilians above ground live in poverty and hunger," said the IDF soldier.
Sinwar also stored multiple bottles of perfume and hygiene products in his room.
Israeli officials claim that the leader and his family indulged in luxury, with Sinwar's wife reportedly carrying a $32,000 Birkin bag during their escape on October 7.
Last February, the IDF raided the bunker, but Sinwar narrowly escaped. His luck ran out when he was serendipitously caught during an IDF operation in Rafah, initially mistaken as a regular Hamas militant.
