Girl Dies on Date After Eating Favorite Meal with Changed Recipe by Chef
texas, usa - A tragic incident where a girl passed away during a date after consuming her favorite meal with a new recipe altered by the chef.
Her family started a crusade a year after the fatal meal, primarily towards restaurants, to raise awareness for the hundreds of thousands of allergy patients who could potentially die from a dish.
Alison, just before her graduation from Tarleton State University, was asked out on a date. Due to her lifelong meticulous selection of meals and restaurants, she chose a restaurant in Texas where she had previously enjoyed a certain fish dish, Mahi Mahi (dolphinfish), several times. Neither Alison nor the waiters were aware that the chef had recently incorporated a new recipe involving peanut sauce.
Her father told CBS that his daughter realized something was wrong after a few bites. Although she managed to use her adrenaline auto-injector as an antidote and even walked to the ambulance, she deteriorated rapidly on the way. "But somewhere along the way, things went downhill quickly," said Grover Pickering. She fell into a coma and eventually passed away.
Ironically, posters warning kitchen staff about food allergies have been displayed in all kitchens in Texas since September 1, 2024, following the death of a boy in a taco restaurant a few years earlier. Despite several inquiries, the staff there had consistently emphasized that no nuts were present in the tacos.
