SpaceX Capsule Reaches ISS to Retrieve Astronauts
A SpaceX capsule carrying two stranded American astronauts reached the International Space Station (ISS) on Sunday at 05:04 AM (Dutch time).
Rescue Mission:
- A Falcon 9 rocket with a Dragon capsule was launched on Friday with four astronauts, aiming to relieve Butch Wilmore and Suni Williams.
- Wilmore and Williams were unable to return to Earth last year due to technical problems with the Boeing rocket, extending their stay from 8 days to 9 months. They are scheduled to return on March 19.
Political Allegations:
President Trump and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk accused former President Joe Biden of leaving the astronauts at the ISS for political reasons, without evidence.
Wilmore stated, 'We were prepared to stay long, even though we had planned to stay briefly,' doubting NASA's decision was politically influenced.
