paris, figari, corsica, miami - A former employee defrauded Kiabi, a French clothing chain active in the Netherlands, for a staggering amount of 100 million euros. Aurélie B. (39) allegedly led a luxurious lifestyle before being arrested.

A former employee has allegedly defrauded Kiabi, a French clothing chain active in the Netherlands, for a shocking 100 million euros. Aurélie B., a 39-year-old woman, was arrested at Figari airport in Corsica after reportedly embezzling the huge sum. The woman, who worked as a financial manager at Kiabi, had apparently invested the money in a foreign account to seek returns. When her colleagues discovered the money missing, an immediate complaint was filed, leading to an investigation by the Paris Prosecutor's Office.

Investigators quickly identified Aurélie B. as the suspect. Despite her actions, she flaunted her wealth on social media with pictures of exotic vacations, fine dining, and luxury cars. At the time of her arrest, around 500,000 euros' worth of jewelry and luxury goods were found in her possession. Aurélie B. was living in Miami, working for a luxury goods company as a designer, responsible for interior decor of a famous American DJ's private jet.

Prior to this incident, Aurélie B. had been previously convicted for similar crimes, defrauding another company of around 800,000 euros. Authorities have now put her in custody on charges of fraud and money laundering. Despite the significant loss, Kiabi's management assured stability as the company recorded a revenue of 2.2 billion euros in 2023.
