Zuckerberg Admits Pressure from Biden Administration Regarding Vaccine Content
united states - Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of the social media platforms' owner META, revealed that the Biden administration pressured them for censorship regarding vaccine-related content.
Mark Zuckerberg, the founder and CEO of Meta, the parent company of social media platforms Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp, stated that the Biden administration applied pressure on them for censorship during the Covid-19 pandemic era.
Zuckerberg made this statement during a podcast appearance. He recalled the efforts made for the vaccine campaign during the Covid-19 era and claimed that the Biden administration attempted to censor vaccine skeptics at that time.
According to Zuckerberg, people from the Biden administration were calling his team, yelling, screaming, and using profanity towards them. Although there are no records of these phone calls, Zuckerberg mentioned that there are similar emails on the matter. They were pressed intensively to remove content that reflected the truth and the facts. In short, they demanded the removal of posts indicating side effects of vaccines.
Zuckerberg conveyed that he made it clear they wouldn't comply with such demands. Following his refusal, when Biden pointed at Meta in his statements, saying, "These are killing people," the company became the target of many government agencies, Zuckerberg stated.
