French President Emmanuel Macron describes Carter as an "unwavering advocate for the rights of the most vulnerable," who "tirelessly fought for peace."
Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer reflect on Carter's role as president in ending the war between Egypt and Israel and his subsequent humanitarian efforts. Al-Sisi believes he set a "noble standard of love, peace, and brotherhood."
Starmer notes that Carter redefined the role of former presidents "with a striking dedication to social justice and human rights, both domestically and internationally."
Brazilian President Lula da Silva remembers Carter's role as a mediator in conflicts in Latin America. "He will always be remembered as a figure who championed the idea that peace is the most crucial condition for progress," says Lula.
