Forest Fires in Los Angeles

Another fire broke out around Castaic Lake in Los Angeles, adding to the wildfires that have already claimed 28 lives in the region. The Hughes fire rapidly spread over 40,000 acres, leading to evacuation orders for over 50,000 people and warnings for 20,000 more. In the meantime, fire containment progress has been reported for the Palisades and Eaton fires.

Deadly Cold Weather

A snowstorm and severe cold weather in the southern and northern regions of the US have resulted in 11 casualties so far. States like Texas, Alabama, Georgia, and Wisconsin faced intense storms, causing over 3,000 flight cancellations and trapping over 100 vehicles on roads. Some areas experienced record-breaking snowfall, with 11 million people under cold weather alerts.
