US Representatives Introduce Bill to Put Trump's Image on $100 Banknotes
Two US Representatives, Brandon Gill and Troy Nehls, have introduced a bill to replace Benjamin Franklin's image on $100 banknotes with President Donald Trump's image. The bill, named the 'Golden Age 2025 Act,' is a nod to Trump's 'American golden age' rhetoric for his second term.
Nehls emphasized Trump's achievements and stated that honoring him on the $100 banknote would be a way to recognize his accomplishments in the next four years. Gill called for support for the bill, aiming to 'make history.'
If the proposal becomes law, $100 banknotes printed from December 31, 2028, onwards will feature Trump's image. Last week, Republican Representative Joe Wilson also introduced a bill proposing a new $250 banknote with Trump's image.
Melania Trump Supports 'Deep Fake' Ban
First Lady Melania Trump has joined the growing support for the Take It Down Act, which aims to ban deep fake content that impersonates famous personalities using artificial intelligence. Melania expressed her support for the bill at a recent meeting in Congress, highlighting the importance of protecting individuals from online exploitation.
The bill mandates social media platforms and tech companies to remove child exploitation materials and obscene content within 48 hours of receiving a report. It also addresses issues like revenge porn, where private content is maliciously shared online after a relationship ends.
