amsterdam - The United States continues to build its military presence in the Middle East in preparation for a potential escalation of the situation.

Despite President Joe Biden urging Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to limit military actions, the US has been steadily increasing its presence in the region. Most recently, the advanced THAAD missile defense system was sent to Israel along with a group of American troops. This marks the first time US troops have been deployed to Israeli soil in over a year.

The US has numerous military bases in the Middle East, with an estimated 40,000 troops stationed in the region. The Pentagon has also increased its troop levels, sending specialized ships and missile defense systems to the area.

American military power was recently demonstrated when Iranian missiles aimed at Israel were intercepted with US assistance. Additionally, US Central Command announced the deployment of additional squadrons to the region, including F-15s, F-16s, and A-10 Warthogs.

US Navy destroyers are actively patrolling the Red Sea in response to Houthi rebel attacks. The USS Abraham Lincoln and USS Harry S. Truman aircraft carriers, along with their accompanying strike groups, are showcasing American strength in the region.

While the USS Harry S. Truman recently passed by the Dutch coast and will participate in a NATO exercise in the North Sea, the USS Abraham Lincoln remains stationed in the Arabian Sea.
