UK and Ukraine Sign Historic 100-Year Partnership Agreement

British Prime Minister Starmer visited the capital city of Kiev to sign the '100-Year Partnership' agreement with Ukraine, aiming to enhance cooperation in defense, non-defense, and cultural fields. The agreement will bring together experts in science and technology, increase collaborations in health, agriculture, space, and drones, and deepen relations between future generations through student programs.
As part of the agreement, students in 100 designated schools in the UK and Ukraine will get to know each other's cultures by reading texts and improving their reading habits.
During his visit, Starmer will also announce new aid from the UK to Ukraine, including how the £100 million health assistance has been utilized. Additionally, a £40 million package will be unveiled to support small and medium-sized businesses and release hundreds of millions of pounds in credit to improve Ukraine's economy.
The 'Investment, Growth, and Economic Resilience Program' will particularly reduce Ukraine's reliance on external aid. The 'Grain Certification Application' will be used to track Ukrainian grains and those produced in the lands controlled by Russia in Ukraine.
So far, the UK has provided £12.8 billion in aid to Ukraine, including £7.8 billion in military support and £3 billion in military assistance. Prime Minister Starmer emphasized the strategic importance of building an independent and prosperous Ukraine, stating that the collaboration will strengthen the economy, ensure national security, and create a prosperous society for the people of the UK.
