Turkish TB2 Drones Altering Dynamics in Sudan's Civil War
Sudan's army, equipped with Turkish-made Bayraktar TB2 drones, broke the siege of El-Obeid town, striking a blow to Rapid Support Forces. The control of El-Obeid town is expected to significantly change the course of the conflict.
Intense clashes continue between Sudan's army and the paramilitary force Rapid Support Forces (RSF). The operational success of Turkish drones in El-Obeid town in the North Kordofan state against RSF forces marks a significant victory for the army. The army announced that the RSF siege was broken with the units in the east of the town.
Sudan's army also declared the capture of Kutum town in the White Nile state. The strategic significance of securing El-Obeid town, which controls critical transportation routes between the capital Khartoum and the Darfur region, is noted to have a major impact on the conflict's dynamics.
Sudan's Finance Minister Gibril Ibrahim stated on social media that the siege of El-Obeid town has been broken, emphasizing it as a crucial step towards a great victory. He highlighted the importance of the El-Obeid triumph for the liberation of Al-Fashir, the capital of North Darfur, besieged by RSF since May.
A senior Sudanese military official, speaking to Sudan Tribune, revealed that the TB2 drones precisely destroyed RSF's artillery systems, significantly reducing RSF's combat capabilities.
