Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan Criticizes France for Supporting PKK/YPG in Syria
istanbul - Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan expressed strong reaction against France's backing of the PKK/YPG affiliated administration in northern Syria.
Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan criticized France for supporting the YPG/PKK-backed administration in northern Syria. Fidan stated that they do not take countries that speak under the umbrella of America seriously and emphasized that their interlocutor is the United States.
Regarding the new era in Syria, Fidan mentioned that efforts have begun for the reconstruction of the country and achieving stability. He also highlighted that the fight against terrorism will be the main activity for Turkey in Syria in 2025.
On the topic of Russia's military presence in Syria, Fidan stated that the future of Russian bases in the country will be negotiated between Damascus and Moscow.
When asked about the possibility of conflict with Israel, Fidan emphasized that Israel's expansionist policies have become an issue for the international community and that Turkey, along with regional allies and global partners, will address and overcome the challenges posed by Israel.
