Trump's Response to Trudeau's Tariff Threats
US President Donald Trump has warned Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau that if Canada imposes retaliatory tariffs against the US, the US will immediately increase tariffs by the same amount. Trump's statement comes after Trudeau announced that Canada will impose equivalent tariffs on $155 billion worth of US goods in response to the US's 25% tariffs. Trudeau criticized Trump for starting a trade war against Canada and stated that the measures taken by the US are foolish. The tariffs will apply to $30 billion worth of goods immediately and the remaining $125 billion worth of products within 21 days.
