gaza strip, middle east - US President Trump's controversial Gaza plan faces rejection from Arab countries, with no rush to implement the forced displacement of Palestinians.
US President's Controversial Gaza Plan
US President Donald Trump has decided to impose sanctions on the International Criminal Court due to the arrest order against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Arab countries, including Egypt and Saudi Arabia, reject the forced displacement plan of Palestinians from Gaza Strip. Trump's plan to 'take over Gaza and forcibly relocate Palestinians' is seen as a violation of international law.
During a joint press conference with Netanyahu, Trump expressed the desire to 'turn Gaza into the Riviera of the Middle East.' However, he stated, 'We are in no rush to implement this plan.' Trump emphasized the need for stability in the region but mentioned that there is no hurry in executing the displacement plan.
The plan has raised concerns among Arab nations, with Egypt leading lobbying efforts against it. Mısır, Suudi Arabistan, BAE, Kuveyt, Umman, Bahreyn, Ürdün, Irak, Cezayir, Tunus, Moritanya, and Sudan's foreign ministers emphasized the plan's violation of international law and its threat to regional stability.
Response from International Community
France and Germany have expressed their opposition to Trump's plan, stating that it poses a serious threat to the two-state solution in the region. The European Union has also reaffirmed its commitment to a two-state solution for lasting peace and stability.
In response to Trump's plan, the United Nations and the International Criminal Court have voiced their support for justice and human rights in the region. The UN has called for a united stance against the unacceptable violations that aim to deprive Palestinians of their inherent rights.
