washington - Former US President Donald Trump, who wants to be re-elected as president next month, demands military protection after murder threats from the US archenemy Iran.

The campaign team of Trump has also requested an expansion of flight restrictions around his election rallies, according to the newspaper, citing emails and insiders. The Washington Post emphasizes that no presidential candidate in recent history has been transported in military aircraft in the lead-up to an election.

The requests came after Trump's campaign advisors heard from the Washington government that Iran is still planning to assassinate him. Trump was recently the target of two assassination attempts, which US officials say are not linked to Iran. Security was already adjusted following the first attack.
