Three Killed in Avalanche in Italian Alps, Two in French Alps

The avalanche occurred on the eastern slope of Punta Valgrande, a mountain peak that stands at 2850 meters. Authorities had issued warnings about potential avalanches above 2100 meters.
In a separate incident in the French Alps, two skiers from Estonia lost their lives in Val d'Isère while skiing off-piste. Local newspaper Le Dauphiné reported that the skiers were found buried under the snow following heavy snowfall in the region. Authorities had previously warned of heightened avalanche risk due to recent weather conditions.
