washington - Multiple nominated American ministers and top officials from the upcoming administration of Donald Trump are being threatened with bomb threats and false emergency calls to their home addresses.

The transition team of the Republican president-elect announced on Wednesday that an unspecified number of incidents occurred on Tuesday night and Wednesday morning. The names of the threatened officials have not been disclosed.

Congresswoman Elise Stefanik from New York confirmed to media that she was one of the victims. She has been nominated as the future UN Ambassador. While heading home with her husband and three-year-old son, Stefanik was informed of a bomb threat at her residence. The New York police are investigating the incident.

In Florida, police reported a bomb threat at the residence of former Republican Congressman Matt Gaetz. He was in the running for the position of Justice, but withdrew after controversy over alleged sexual misconduct. The report turned out to be a false alarm, according to the local sheriff.

The FBI stated in a release that they are aware of the reports and are investigating them.

During the presidential campaign, two failed assassination attempts on Trump took place. At a rally in Butler, a shooter fired eight bullets at the Republican, injuring his ear. In Florida, a man with a weapon was arrested for hiding on the golf course where Trump was playing. An alert Secret Service agent discovered the individual in time.
