moscow, russia - Russian Federal Security Service foiled a terrorist attack targeting a synagogue and a metro station in Moscow.
Russian Security Forces Thwart Terror Attack Plans
Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) announced the prevention of a terrorist attack targeting a synagogue and a metro station in Moscow. The attacker, a Russian citizen of Central Asian descent, was planning to carry out the attack and then flee to Afghanistan. During the arrest operation in Moscow, the individual resisted security forces and was neutralized.
Chemical materials used in making weapons and explosive devices were found in the individual's residence during a search. This incident comes after FSB reported last year that a terrorist attack on a synagogue in Moscow was also prevented.
